Visit the Astoria Riverfront

Overflowing with local restaurants, canneries and a pedestrian boardwalk for an easy stroll, the Astoria Riverfront is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The riverfront spans three miles aside the Columbia River and connects multiple waterfront attractions.

Visit Downtown Astoria

Downtown Astoria has ample shopping options and lots of tasty restaurant options. While you’re there, visit the Oregon Film Museum, Columbia River Maritime Museum, and check out the great views atop the Astoria Column. The downtown area is filled with a wide array of shops, restaurants, galleries as well as food trucks and cafes. Live music can often be found as you’re exploring.

Climb the Astoria Column

While you’re in Downtown, be sure to stop by the Astoria Column, a tower providing a gorgeous 360-view of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean. Don’t forget your sneakers since it’s a 164 step climb to the top, but we assure you the view is well worth it.

Ride the Astoria Riverfront Trolley

While you’re visiting the Riverfront, hop on the Astoria Riverfront Trolley for a low-fare and fun way to navigate the city. This classic trolley makes you feel like in a different time and is great for when your travel group needs a break from walking.

Climb Saddle Mountain

Climb the tallest mountain in Clatsop county and experience the incredible views, ample hiking trails and beautiful wildflowers. You can also camp near the mountain basin.

Check out Astoria Brewing Company

Come enjoy this laid-back brewery and cafe that serves everything from handcrafted beer to delicious chowder. The Astoria Brewing Company is easily accessible from the Riverfront Trolley.

Visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum

Be sure to stop by the Columbia River Maritime Museum while you’re in Astoria. The Columbia River has always been a dangerous and formidable body of water to work on and in, and this museum perfectly captures the bravery and effort of those who worked in it with over 30,000 maritime artifacts. Overlooking the Columbia River near downtown, this kid-friendly museum tells the history of the surrounding region.

For great views and even better food and beer, look no further than the Rogue Ales Public House. This spot has great ambiance and a huge beer selection, including Dad’s Little Helper and Yellow Snow IPA.

Take a day trip to Long Beach, WA

Only 30 minutes away, Long Beach Washington has a ton of local attractions and beautiful wilderness to explore. Come drive on the beach, hike the Discovery trail, or try one of the many incredible local restaurants.

Explore the Peter Iredale Shipwreck

The Columbia River was once known as the “Graveyard of the Pacific” and one of these many shipwrecks can be seen here. This ship ran ashore in 1906 and lets you get up close and personal to a real shipwreck in person.
